Frequently Asked Questions

Why are these guides being produced?
We like local business. In fact, we love it. And we want to keep our favorite coffee shops and quirky little cafes and fun neighborhoods around. We began producing Local Flavor Guides™ as a way to help others find the original places that make Denver unique. Because the only way to ensure the longevity of these businesses is do business with them.
Where can I find guides for my neighborhood?

Find Local Flavor Guides™ at distributing stores in each neighborhood. All guides are also available at the Tattered Cover Book Store LoDo and East Colfax locations.

If your favorite local business doesn't carry a Local Flavor Guide™,  ask them to!

How do you choose which businesses are listed in a guide?
Our guides feature a sampling of the locally-owned shops, restaurants and cultural centers in some of Denver's best neighborhoods. Because businesses do not have to pay to be included in the guide, we do exercise a subjective selective process, while still trying to share the flavor of a particular neighborhood. We do our best to feature the most distinguishing businesses, to help draw people into a neighborhood.
Why isn't my business listed in the guide?

There are a number of possible reasons your business was not included in your neighborhood's guide. It's possible we have unintentionally missed you. Also, we currently do not feature professional and business services or health care practitioners in the printed guides. These are walkable guides, and we don't think people will choose a lawyer just by walking past their office. Because of space limitations, we must select the businesses which best represent the character of our neighborhoods.

We're commited to including businesses that demonstrate their support for local business by joining the Mile High Business Alliance.

If your business is new, give us a call, so we can learn about you and include your business in the next printing of the guide.

And lastly, if your business is not included in the printed guide, we'd be happy to include it on this web site. If you're not listed on the site, drop us a line.
